Yard Work

The little tree out front finally popped with blossoms. It smells wonderful - but be careful of bees!!! I rigged this up to hopefully keep the deer from cutting thru the hill out back. There are little bags of "rat poison" hanging from a clothes line.
Maybe the *#+#* deer won't eat the day lillies and other things I have planted on the hill.

Perennials are coming up - this is a Persian Coneflower that I planted last fall.
I have three groupings of trillium.........beautiful.

I got bags of topsoil and manure and worked them into my little vegetable garden.
You can see where I planted peas already - a little late, but hopefully we will get some yummy Sugar Snap Peas.

I have already purchased some tomatoes and purple sweet peppers to plant soon.
I also will plant wax beans.
On the sewing front, I have put together 2 wall hangings using the panel from The Very Hungry Caterpillar. This is number 1 - basted and ready for quilting. Number 2 is done - and ready to hang in Foster Library. It is smaller as we don't have much wall space.
The little catepillar hatches on the big green leaf, eats lots of different foods and becomes a very BIG caterpiller - with a tummy ache!!!
He eats thru a green leaf and feels much better - and then spins a little brown house around himself and in a couple weeks becomes a beautiful butterfly!!!
