Key Lime in the Garden

I wandered to the garden area at Meijers this morning and found this variety of Coral Bells - Key Lime. This plant has a few brown spots on lower leaves, but good new growth, so I put it next to the house on the west side. It gets afternoon sun and there are 2 other varieties of coral bells that have done well.

Now I can say I have lime green in my garden and in my quilts!!! I noticed that the bird-brained cardinals have a nest in the lilac bush. The do this every year - and rarely get babies - the crows and whatever seem to empty the nest before maturity. There is nothing in the nest at this moment.
Remember, I do have a cat that wanders around outside, too - why do they build a nest here????
The little garden area in the front is looking so lush.
Perenniels are coming up and the bird bath has been splashed in by the cardinals and finches. I can see that from one of the kitchen windows.

I do love spring and the many shades of green that it brings.

And, where else, pray tell, do you plan to display "lime green"? The cardinals build their nest there, because who wouldn't love to be born, surrounded by fragrant lilacs!?

Hmmm - that key lime looks good enough to eat ... have your deer discovered it yet?
