East Lansing Art Fair

LATE ADDITION - FROST WARNINGS TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! Cover the garden!!!!

Yesterday John went off golfing and I headed to the East Lansing Art Fair.
I went looking for Renate who makes niobium earrings - funky ones - and bought 3 pairs!! I was also looking for the lady who paints on linen type clothing - but she was not there - saving me money!!

I saw LOTS of beads - maybe overkill......nice photography, sculptures, paintings, and pottery. I purchased a bowl with a trillium on the edge - I have a butter dish with a daffodil made by Priscilla, too.

Jesse, from my library, had a booth displaying her large quilted wall hangings. Petey was with her - he's a hip baby in one of his many carriers. Petey has come to baby storytime and i will see him in the July session - Jesse is busy with art fairs right now.

I met Cindy, Lisa and Jacob when sitting down to enjoy a concert.
I also saw Mel and Bill, Zoe, Kaylee (an emerging artist), Tim, Rae, Pam, Ellen, Barb, Caddie and her mom and dad, and many more friends who were enjoying the day, too.
I left about 2:30 as dark clouds and falling temps approached.

We went to the Lansing Symphony in the evening. Great program - Music of the Earth. A contemporary piece that I loved, incidental music to "Peer Gynt" and a Sibelius symphony that ended with a WOW........last concert of the year. We have enjoyed the concerts this year.

I have no new quilt pictures, so will post some from the Sauder Village Quilt Fair two weeks ago.

One more thing.........my neighbors went up north and left me in charge of Chanel - their cat.
This was in her water dish this morning - with a long elastic attached.............YUCK!!!

I'm told she does not do this trick when they are home...........mmmm.........

It sounds like the earring artists made some good money this weekend! I can't wait to see yours and Cindy's many jewelry purchases! I'm sorry I missed the art fair this year - maybe next year (in between CCQG show stints...).

and my earrings are sooooo adventurous! I spent the weekend clearing stuff from my Mom's house ---not nearly so much fun as the Art Fair! (and so much yet to do!)
