Guard Hummer

Some people have a guard dog....we have a guard hummer!!!!
I had taken the feeder down because the hummingbirds preferred the neighbors feeder to ours.
However, the other day when I was on the deck, one kept coming to visit the sun tea jar and the cap on the grill spray.
I put the feeder back out and now it us being guarded by this little lady........
She is fiesty - and will just sit there and fend off anyone who tries to have a sip here.........

Fun afternoon

The Grands dropped in on Saturday afternoon - their parents had a business meeting in Ann Arbor.
Andrew enjoys the plastic pony that Ruth got 9 years ago for a visit from her niece. It has been enjoyed by Katherine, Alexander, Allison and now Andrew!!! What a buy for 25 cents at a garage sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He walks all over now - no more crawling for him!!!
Alexander got out golf clubs and used the back yard driving range - trying to hit balls in the creek! He played catch with this koosh ball thing - he is more coordinated than he looks - skinny thing!!!
Allison had fun with the bubbles - and so did the others. My gallon jug is empty - hope there is still some at the store!!!
What is it about being here that makes her teeth fall out???? Allison lost a top tooth!!!! Now she looks like she has one tooth in the middle - and that one will be out by the end of the week!!!

Baby Quilt

I - or rather we - made a quilt for a new nephew/cousin.

Alexander, Allison and Andrew drew on muslin squares and I added squares of transportation fabrics.

Lawson should make his entrance to the world any day now and we will give him his quilt when we see him at the Kuhlman picnic on Labor Day weekend.
When the kids were here yesterday, I showed them the finished quilt - Andrew pointed at things and carried the quilt around - it has been drooled on already!!!
You can see the backing fabric - perfect!!

More Flip Flops

I finished up with the flip flops.........They were fun to embellish.
The hanging with the three pairs is in my foyer.
Allison can take home the one with the 2 pairs of flip flops.
The last picture is something I finished up - the center block was given to me by a friend a number of years ago......I added to it to make a wall hanging.
I do not want it and offer it - first come, first gets!!!! It would look ok in an office maybe. If no one comes forth, I'll hang it in the library with a "Take Me" sign on it.

New Backpack and More Swimming!!!!

Allison picked out a new backpack for school - it has a matching lunch box, too!!!
Allison has enjoyed going to the pool. She is very confident with her swimmies - I don't blow them up all the way...she doesn't know that. However, she is NOT going to put her head in the water to swim. She is really trying to use her arms and kick - but with that head out of water, she doesn't go very well........another year!!!!
She brings some Polly Pocket dolls to play with at the pool. They fell off the kickboard, so she found a mask as was going to dive for them, but decided that she "just couldn't do it."
She really enjoyed it when her Grandpa came to the pool........he had her so relaxed on her back.....she tried to do it on her own, too.
I love the hairdo - braids tied up in the pony tail. When I was little, that was called sugar bowls. Sure keeps it out of the way for swimming!!!!
I took Allison to meet her dad in Indiana - he had picked up Alexander from his National Young Scholars Camp in Illinois - and had a great time.
Now our house is quiet - only Mango to snuggle with.
