Tailgate

Sunday evening after the show, we had a Tailgate Party with all the members of the International Exchange Group. What a group!!! This is me with Naomi-san, Naruge-san, Miki-san and Konishi-san.
I made the vest especially for this tailgate - must dress up for the occasion!!!
We had time for snacks and drinks and talk before eating.

John cooked hot dogs on the grill and everyone brought a dish to pass - we had potato salad, ham, veggies, jello salad, deviled eggs, cole slaw and chips. Dessert was brownies, cookies, maple cake from the sugar bush trip - no one went hungry.

After eating, some were in the dining room discussing the visit and the show and everything the ladies from Japan had expereinced.

We had gift bags for the ladies - including t-shirts!!!!

Also in the bags were embroidered towels from Van - or were they from Higgens, her black cat???

Chris gave them the quilt pattern book they used in Japan that belonged to Liz who brought it back home to the states with her. I am sure they will share this book - and get lots of good ideas for future projects.
Monday morning, the ladies asked to see my ribbon. I did not know that my vest had won a viewers' choice award.
We went downstairs and got out the vest - and ribbon. They looked carefully at my vest and Miki wanted to try it on. It fit her so nicely that I said it was hers. She was so happy and so was I!!!!

I have so enjoyed being a part of this group and the exchange - and the best was to meet the ladies, spend time with them and have some of them stay at our home. They gave me a beautiful large bowl with 5 smaller ones to match. I will use it at Easter dinner and think of them.
What better way to promote world peace..........
