Works in Progress

I have eight blocks done for the commission quilt for Marcia and Dick. It takes a week of evenings to hand piece one block. There is no time limit here - thank goodness!!!!!!!
I have 20 blocks to make for the top...........then there are borders, etc........don't even want to go there now!!! Close up of 6 blocks...........

When Allison was here she said she wants a quilt from me on her bed. I have made her a few, but they seem to be in storage and unavailable to her. She wants it to be pink and hearts - to remind her of my love for her.
I explained that I had the blocks to make for Marcia and Dick. Her idea is to have me make one for them and then do one for her - "like a pattern."
So this is her first block. I will make blocks of different sizes - some applique, some hand pieced and some on the machine..........and then put them together. It will be a one of a kind quilt - just for her.
This is the start of the second block. I have done some research and have quite a few block patterns to choose from.
I ordered a pack of pre-cut pink hearts from Keepsake and they are on backorder - apparently a popular item.
I would appreciate any donations of 8 to 10 inch pieces of pink fabric. Thanks ahead of time........
Oh yes........she wants her name at the bottom as in The Quilt Story picture book that we read many times when she is here.

I haven't done much sewing lately - summer activities and grandkid visits come first. But I look forward to some heart blocks, Halloween costumes and a mystery quilt for LAP on my sewing machine in the next couple months.

Linda, this is going to be an amazing quilt -- and one that I would never attempt! About your quilt for Allison -- Rose has requested two pink and green quilts for the twin beds in her room at the cottage in Naubinway. I cut some blocks when Dusty & I had our Mother/Daughter retreat last weekend. I will cut some pink squares for your quilt. Daisy

I have many pink fabrics for you to use in Allison's quilt.
