Last Block Exchange

Monday was the last meeting of this block exchange "go-round." All blocks should be done and everyone can start putting together their quilts.....at least that is the plan. Some have got their blocks together already.

These are the blocks for Bonnie - LOVE the secondary pattern.
Beth had us making the little cross blocks for some applique hearts she has been hoarding for a few years. How pretty!!! I know that sounds hokey - can't think of another word that describes these blocks.

We are DONE making this fall block for Carol - we have pieced it for 2 years and need to move on!!! She will set them "off" from each other and has a neat border planned.

These are the music blocks for my sister in law. I have some black musical note fabric for the sashing - and it's bonus on the selvages - piano keys. They will go somewhere because I need to use up fabric.
I have her name for Christmas, so this needs to get sewn!!!

Louise again accepted orphan blocks from anyone. She puts them together to make quilts for children in the local hospital. Amazing what she can put together.
There are 2 of these quilts. I found pieces of fabric and small blocks that I have given her in both of these.

Terry will be putting all these blocks and pictures together for her son, John. He ran track and cross-country in high school and has moved on to a university east of here.
Don't know if he will take this green quilt there!!!!!!!!!!!! Green is also the color of grass that he runs on........not just the Spartans!!!

We were instructed to use lots of oriental prints in these blocks for Ruth. In the larger squares we can't find a repeat!!!

Daisy had us make a snail trail block in brown and blue. She put together 2 quilts (after making more blocks herself) - one for her daughter and one for her.

These blocks for Dorothy have southwest colors - amazing how different they look depending on color placement. She is going to put some embroidery and applique in the centers.

Lime green and raspberry for Lisa - how stunning!!!
The border fits perfectly.

Jan had us use bright colors with the yellow background that she provided. It has a bold geometric look.

She has this Jane Sassaman print for the border - after she chooses something appropriate for an inner border - NOT drab blue!!!

Georgia provided us with lots of pastels for the pieced blocks. She is making the applique blocks - and they are beautiful.

Cindy has her quilt done - houses for Habitat office; and we have not seen Roxies' blocks in ages - someday I will post those.

Ruth showed us a quilt she is making for an October family wedding. Many family members sewed blocks and Ruth is maching quilting it as we speak.

Block Exchange will resume in 2009...........we all look forward to making blocks for our friends in the new year - and receiving blocks from our friends!!!

Thanks for posting the photos, Linda. The quilts were especially beautiful this year, weren't they? So glad that almost everyone could be there for the final exchange.
