Out with the Old , In with the New

Our frige has been slowly dying. It is (was) an original appliance - so is the oven and dishwasher - just about 20 years old. I wonder how long those will last.......let's not go there.

The motor has been going non-stop for a couple weeks and getting louder by the day.
This week we started looking in stores - hoping we wouldn't need emergency delivery.
No more almond color - choice is white, stainless, black or bisque (of which we saw none!)

Last night I removed lots of food - some things went into the trash - only a couple items were fuzzy, but there was some freezer burn items that went out, too. We have a good size frige downstairs at the bar. I removed all the wine and filled it up!!!

Soooo....goodbye old frige...........

Note the series of pics of the grands on the right. I have taken their picture every year in June sitting in an little plastic chair on the front deck. I will have to find a new way of keeping those precious pictures.
I have also kept a current picture of them with their great-grandparents - I take one every time they are together.
Then there are the pics of the kids with each of us.........and........and........lots of memories!!!!
This morning, delivery as promised.
In with the new!!!!!!

It looks HUGE!!! It does stick out a couple inches more than the old.

Now to wait until it cools and put all the stuff in!!!
No more pics!!! :(

John leaves tomorrow for a golf week in the Gaylord area.
I made him a special pillowcase and he will take his MSU fleece.

He has only started to "gather" - bedding, etc. He needs to pack and get his golf clubs and beer together, too.
I'm told they eat very well (turkey, ham, brisket, etc - no hot dogs!!) - thanks to Tom and one other man.
I'm sending raisin sauce for the ham and a batch of chocolate chip cookies.

I have a week alone - well not quite - work and training in Ypsilanti this week.
