The Creek, Sewing and Garden

The waters have receeded quite nicely. Actually today the creek is totally within it's banks. This heron has been visiting quite a bit .........don't know if he found much to eat.

One of my small groups is doing a "Quilt a Song" project.
This is my first one - did it quite awhile ago.
Title - Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head.
I did this one the other day.
Title - think about it..........see the end of this blog entry........

I have started Halloween costumes.
On the left is the Winter Snowflake Fairy for Allison- The sleeves are sheer, as is the tie belt. There will be maribou trim on the sleeves, neck and a headband. I just found beautiful white wings with maribou trim - she will look soooo fancy!!! By the way, have you read the book, Fancy Nancy?
On the right is the start of a baseball for Andrew. It needs elastic in the top and bottom and stitching - to be done with a fabric marker.

They get bags to match.
Alexander is going to use some pieces from past costumes - a tunic, belt and red cape. He needs some gauntlets and a short sword to be a Roman Soldier. He says he wants to use a pillowcase for his loot - probably much cooler when you are in fifth grade!!!

I made 4 more blocks for my block exchange quilt - music blocks for my sister-in-law, the concert cellist.
I will be sashing them with a black musical note fabric - and adding something for a border.......don't know yet.

The Key Lime Pie and some fabrics were a gift from Karen - who winters in Key West - and Mel - who winters in Cocoa Beach.......I am not sure where this is going yet.

The finches are working on the coneflowers............and they love to play in my bird bath in the same area.

These asters are just blooming. They were eaten down by the deer early in the summer.

Further back in the yard is a little shag bark maple surrounded by sedum - very pretty now.

The bees love the sedum.

Title of the quilt a song? Moon River!!!!
