Machine Quilting Class

Today I took a Machine Quilting class with Mickey Depre. I took a class from her at NQA a couple years ago and have been followng her work ever since.

She gave a lecture last evening at CCQG.

Yes..........I pinked my hair again. We all gathered round for demos. There were only 6 in the class.
These are Mickeys' samples of the different quilt designs that we did in class. She said we should practice almost every day - run thru all the designs for a minute each. I know how much better I am when I do more!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, my machine was not cooperating and I could not make the designs. This is Mickey's demo piece.........

I came home and put in a totally different kind of needle - machine works like a charm. I don't know what was wrong - maybe a bad package of needles???? I tried 2 of them, re-threading everything more than 3 times, cleaning everything I could, etc etc etc.........
It was disheartening, but I will be practicing my new stitch designs on my "sandwiches" this evening. I had made 9 for class!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where is this going??????????????
I don't know............

CONGRATS! on the machine-quilting class! I am so glad that the new needles make a difference; it is always frustrating to not be able to do what's going on IN class! Talk about persevering - it pays, doesn't it?!

Lessons...lessons... it's all about Life's Lessons!

Good to see you last evening at guild. Hope to see you more some other time!

Sorry you had such a frustrating time in class --- but am glad that you figured out the problem. What kind of needles were you using? I took the Saturday class and really enjoyed it --- another "practice, practice, practice" --- now, if I can only find a few more hours in the day!
