A Better Weekend

This past week I made this dress and purse for Allison to wear this weekend. She loved it!!!! She also loved the look of Johns' 10 stitches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Friday was a memorial service and reception for Johns' dad. Relatives came from far and wide and many people from the community. A reception was at Lansing Country Club - where Dad and Mom spent lots of time - golfing and eating and socializing with friends.
Tim and Marcia spoke at the service. Very nice........
Remember the quilt I made using the handprints of family? It was used to cover Dad the last few months of his life and displayed at the service. I am honored.
This is John and his mom.

Aunt Tina with the grands that were there - Allison, Reagan, Piper, Alexander and Andrew. Piper had obviously had enuf of pictures!!!

This afternoon, the kids had a present for John - early Fathers (Grandfathers) Day. We had gotten this Big Birdie Golf game at the East Lansing Art Fair in May. It will be fun to play the next time they are here.
You use a wedge and shot "birdie golf balls" at a net type target. Good for all ages.....and abilities!!!!!!!!

Each June for the last 12 years, I have taken pictures of the children on the front deck in this little chair. They are a treasure.

Alexander had some candy in his teeth.

Allison just wants to look beautiful!!!

Andrew is NOT into posing for pictures. We had to cajole him to get this......

Lunchtime fun and teasing..........

As the kids were leaving, I had Ashley take a picture..........
I'm so glad I keep taking pictures. There were many that I had taken of Dad and his grands and greats that Marcia showed in a slide presentation at the reception.

I know the weekend is not over. Our house is quiet. Mango loves that!!!
Sunday promises our golf date - John puts up with me........I'm really not into it at all - would rather walk/run!!!!!!!!!! Don't tell him.

Sunday P.S. - Golf this morning was ok........ I got laundry done and on the line and some garden work done. John says he is so happy that this Sunday is NOT a repeat of last Sunday.......mee too!!!!!!!!!

I think I have been reading your blog as long as you have been taking the "chair" pictures --- can really see how the grands have grown ---you may have to find a bigger chair! Glad that the memorial went so well --- and John looks pretty good, for having run into that golf club!

What a difference a week makes, eh? -- or was it just a few days??
I like these reports much better, Linda. Daisy
