Fourth of July Weekend

Fourth of July had John and I in a golf event with friends Carol and Tom. Our team did very well in the scramble - we took First Place!!!!

We came home to find kids in the little tree out back!!!
The kids had walked some in the Lansing Parade with Ruth and others representing the Dog Park. See Ruths' blog for pics of that - http://rdukelow.blogspot.com
Having family here means many group pictures -
I had purchased a water slide - cheap - but enjoyable. Allison sat and slid down.

Alexander ran and slid off the end - and Andrew just loved going down any way he could.
The kids enjoyed being outside in the afternoon - and wet!!!
We had a hot dog picnic for dinner......

Saturday we went to the pool - that Andrew LOVED being in the water - until his whole body was shaking from the chilly water.
Alexander jumped off the board a few times trying to catch a ball.
Allison just likes to bounce in the water.

My folks came for dinner - John cooked chicken on the grill - messy, but yummy. I made key lime pie that everyone loves to eat.

We also had to update our pictures of us with the grands........

All these pictures can cause goofiness!!!!

Sunday morning the kids packed up the car and we had a little time downstairs. What better thing to do with a quilt than play!!! This is my new charm quilt - Andrew loved to identify things and Alexander and Allison found familiar fabrics - like Darth Vader from a pillowcase and My Pretty Pony from pj's.......and many others.

We went to Kuhlmans' to say hello to the Greats over there. And the obligitory picture.

Last was a group hug for Great Grandma -

Allison is staying with us for a couple weeks - her turn ALONE - without any bothering brothers!!!!!
The rest returned to Ohio - it was nice to have a visit with all the families......

Thanks for lending me your "grands" for the parade. It was more fun having them there! Thanks!

Please send me your recipe for key lime pie.

Hmmm ---key lime pie! Great to see those smiling kids and how nice they are growing! Will I see Allison at the library?
