A Quilt for Alexander

Today Alexander is 12 years old. I remember driving to Conneticut when he was born. He was tiny and yellow. Today he is skinny and NOT yellow........he's a neat kid and I love him very much.

His quilt top is finished. The stars in the center panel light up in the dark - cool!!!! I am almost done piecing the backing with leftover fabrics from the front. I had a private lesson with my new sewing machine (finally) this week. I learned that the tension problems that I have been having are because I was winding the bobbon wrong. Now I can attack the machine quilting projects that have been on my table. Mainly the quilts for Allison and now this one for Alexander.

Sewing machine time has been taking a back seat to the Olympics......and my triangles are finished - 86 of them. I'll sew them together next week - after the games. I have other hand work to do while watching the last of the Olympics.

Linda, I LOVE Alexander's quilt, as will he. It is bright and cheerful and interesting. But then all your quilts are like that. Thanks for sharing. Daisy

What is the backing for Alexander's quilt? Tell him Happy Birthday from me with lots of love! :)

I can't wait to see your Olympics quilt - sounds like it will be finished soon.
