Block Exchange is Coming

These are the samples that I have made for Block Exchange. The block is very similiar to the one that we are to make for Phyllis.
Look carefully and you can see my mistake - but I was too far along in the construction to take it apart. The block on the right is correct. It all has to do with the sewing together of the two dark batik rectangles that you sew the triangles (squares) onto.........I decided that I may not be the only one to make a mistake - and in the scheme of things........it will all "quilt" out!!!!!!

I want the center block solid and a colorful star around it - that is what is in the block on the right..........

It is a 16" block and I will put them together with no sashing.......for the persons that I have in the Thomas family christmas exchange this year.
I really want to dye this summer............I took a class a couple years ago, did some dying in my back yard, and have used the fabric in some quilts. I have containers, dye, soda ash, and other items necessary to dye in a box in the storeroom downstairs. So I'm ready........

I ordered Frieda Andersons' new book and couple pieces of her fabric - the package of squares was a bonus!!!!!!!
We have had our January "heat wave" - temps in the 30's, much of the snow has melted and today it is raining!!!! I'm glad I got my walk in yesterday!!!

What is this long track in my yard???????

The sled, of course, from when the grands enjoyed a couple afternoons playing out back.

P.S. The snow has all melted out back - it's 48 outside at this moment - Sunday evening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your block has lots of pieces but looks rather easy. If you need more containers for dyeing...I have lots of empty cat litter containers.

Love your variation of the block! Are you giving us the background fabric? See you tonight.

I would me more than happy to do dying this summer. Want to fabricstiks(?right name and/or spelling) If so start saving interesting textures to color over.
