Sewing

I don't just sew quilts - I enjoy sewing clothing, too. For me and for the grands.

Halloween costumes are a favorite.

Allison wants to be a princess. She picked out the pattern and the bright pink fabric when she was here in August. After a couple fittings, this is her dress. There is a tiara, too. Alexander requested black. I offerred 2 fabric samples last weekend - velour-like and shiny.
He chose the shiny and this is the result.

I'm not sure just what it is...........his imagination will take him there!!!!!!!!!

Andrew has talked about being a baseball again. Fine with me!!!!!! I do have a M&M costume in the closet.
Most three year olds like the familiar - and if he is happy with the familiar baseball, so be it!!!!!!!!!

On another note, I am not going to walk the 1/2 marathon this weekend. I just didn't get in long (10 miles and more) training walks.
I am really happy with what I have done so far this year - 8 - 5K's and 1 - 8K - with 4 more 5K's before the end of the year. I do a walk/run or enter as a walker in these races. My fast walk is faster than many walk/runners. That is where I have won medals!!!!
I will train harder for a 1/2 marathon for next year - got to have long term goals!!!!!!!!!

Gotta get a training walk in this afternoon........see ya..............

Are you walking the Dino dash? Ana's running the 5K and I entered as a walker ... I figure if she gets tired out, I'll be the stop-gap and keep her going until the finish ... or she'll keep me going!

You have my admiration for doing costumes --- it's too much sewing for such a short time. I had a closet with about five costumes that worked for the kids --- have tried to stay away from the "trendy" --- and, my haven't costumes changed in the last years?!
