Block Exchange and More

I'll get to Block Exchange..........

First - the hands for Grandpa Kuhlman. The handprints were done at a family day early in September. He was unable to attend and this will go to him at his assisted care facility. Second - a little something by Lisa. The colors are washed out in this picture.....too much warmth of all the quilters last evening.

OK.....Block Exchange....
These are for Phyllis - she wants blocks that remind her of Michigan..........no need to explain these. The basket is from Deb - who makes baskets and likes pansies.

Ruth has us interpreting this St Francis prayer. Carol found it printed on fabric!!!!!!!!

These are the blocks people have made her...........a few stars, dark/light, happy/sad, love, etc..............

This is mine - it got kinda big!!!!!!!!!!! It's the garden variety - for a master gardner and her husband for Christmas. Lots of flowers, veggies and birds (they are birders.)
It's ready for quilting..........

Lisa should work on this one during the dark days of winter - or maybe we will be doing another block for her next exchange.............it's sooooo rainbow sherbet.

Dasiy likes to have the lights on at her home - These are sooo warm and cozy!!!

Carol had us make these with repro fabrics - there will be flying geese in between each block ---see one strip in the upper right.
Once again, the color was kinda washed out - too many hot quilters standing around admiring the blocks as we put them on the floor!!!!!!!!

Georgia will also be adding sashing to her nosegays as you can see in the top of the picture.

The contrast makes this block for Dorothy really nice. Can you see the stars???

Terry will also be adding sashing to these little blocks - they are only eight inch square and sooooo soft looking.

Deb had us repeat an exchange from a few years ago - she has enuf to carpet her bedroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jan likes repro quilts. She has some of her blocks together.

Beth had us make a 9 patch (the block she invented!) and cut them to make the disappearing 9 patch. Did she invent that, too????

Eileen has enuf of these blocks to carpet her bedroom too!!!!!!! She supplied us with all the strips from a couple (or more) jelly rolls.

We had some extra quilts on display too. This is Beths' daughter from a few years ago. Beth just finished this up.

Bonnie played with the courthouse steps block and lots of different fabris for this one........DONE!!!

Terry is working on this as part of a curved piecing project. Caffe au lait!!!!!!!

Ruth has hosted Block Exchange for 19 years. Daisy organized a surprise for her to celebrate. Everyone made a block for Ruth........
What a great idea, Daisy..........thanks.

Linda,
thanks for visiting my blog days ago. Sorry, I've just knew. I've been away for a while from blogging.

The quilts here are all awesome. I love the handprint one, lovely :)

The heat was from all the enthusiasm emanating from the quilters --- nice to see all the pictures. ...and, I love the hands quilt --- what a great idea! Also --- saw a couple of toes peeking in the pictures :-)

I'd love to take credit, but I believe it was Jan who invented the nine patch!
