What a weekend!!!!

Wednesday of last week I learned that Ashley and Alex had a business meeting in Pittsburgh for the weekend and we could have a quick visit with the grands.

I tried to leave Friday morning but had to have my car "jumped" as the battery was dead. No problem said my neighbor who helped me out - the drive to Perrysburg, Ohio would charge the battery. I met the family group at a Burger King where we ate and they left.............but I couldn't leave. Dead battery, again. A nice young man "jumped" the battery again and we drove home - without stopping the engine - even to fill up the gas tank!!!.

Needless to say, the car went into the shop first thing Saturday morning!!!!

First things first when the visit started. The kids did not come at Easter, so baskets were saved and they followed a dozen clues all over the house to find their baskets.

Andrew got a neat ball that flattens in his basket. Alexander found Star Wars legos - his current favorite.

Allison was happy with a new Barbie that had pets - 2 dogs and 2 cats!!!!

All had these funny glasses, but only 2 would put them on!!!!!

Downstairs at the game table the children play very well together - with different things. Allison with her Polly Pockets, Andrew with "guys", and Alexander with the Star Wars legos.

Somehow, the dress ups came out and they all got into the act. Snack was had at a little table downstairs, then off to bed!!!!!!

My intentions to go to the East Lansing Art Fair were put on hold as my car went into the shop - and it was drizzling.

The kids played downstairs for quite awhile.

Andrew likes the little kitchen - this belonged to Ashley - dishes, play food, phone, etc. too. You can see the muzzle of a stick horse that I made for Ashley - all the kids use that!!!!!

The car was ready at 3, so off we went to the art fair.

The kids enjoyed looking at all the different booths - some more quickly than others. Alexander liked space photographs, Allison liked the booths of doll clothes. We all liked "junk" sculpture!!!!

Clifford was there at the WKAR booth - after the picture was taken, Andrew very quickly gave Clifford a hug!!!!

Alexander purchased a bow and arrows, Allison got a swirley thing on a stick - both happy campers. Andrew was just happy to be in and out of the stroller looking at things. I found my fav earring gal ( got 2 pairs) and saw quite a few people I know.

Potter Park Zoo had a place in the Childrens' area. Allison loved the snake, and the large python skin in front of her. There was also a possom and an armidillo walking around and MANY pelts and things to touch. Allison would like to go to Zoo School this summer.

Alexander and Allison decorated visors at the LCC tent and we left.

Sunday late morning the kids got outside again. The previous evening they met some kids who were visiting their grandparents that live in our circle - so they were all on bikes (or horses) riding around in the street.

This horse has such a history - purchased almost 10 years ago by Ruth for a visit from her niece!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still loved!!!

Allison got on the 2-wheeler that her mom used!!!!!!!!!!! A Schwin Pixie - probably considered an antique now!!!!

Alexander has a hand me down dirt bike - and whizzes around on that - it's a hand me down from my sisters' boys - now in college!!!

Andrew is really strong - he can hit that ball across the street on the fly!!!! He has all the strength and coordination in the family!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are three happy kids - who hated to leave...........

Notice the bow and a couple arrows on Alexander. Harmless things!!!! I hope!!!

The kids play so well together.........and we enjoyed the time with them - even tho it was short. This is the first time Andrew has been away from his parents and he was just fine........sure wish he was potty trained, tho!!!!!!!!
NEWS FLASH!!!! Just got a call from Ashley - Allison is being sent home from school because she has head lice............I've got lots of laundry to do!!!!!!!!!

That old horse was definitely worth the 25 cents I think I paid for it! :) So fun to see one more kid enjoying it.

Your grandkids are the best - cherish every moment you have with them! I love the photos.

Sounds like a very busy and fun weekend, despite the car troubles! The older grands look about the same --- a little taller and older --- but, Andrew is growing up! Missed seeing you, but for the very best of reasons!
