Warm Towels

I started making these warm towels many years ago. It is not an original idea, but a very welcome towel after a child gets out of the tub - they are usually cold because they don't want to get out and the water has gotten frigid and you say, "NOW!"
They are made with terrycloth and flannel - sewn right sides together and turned.
This is for a little niece. She is now 6 months old and has outgrown those baby towels with the tiny hood. This will be snuggly warm for her. Allison has complained that she needs a bigger towel!!!
I usually get 1 1/2 yards of both fabrics - wash and dry to shrink and make the largest towel I can.
For Allison, I got 2 yards of the fabrics and shrunk them - the terrycloth shrinks a little more than the flannel. She will still have a good size towel!!
Alexander already has a big one.
This is hers being turned inside out. You can see I rounded the corners so I don't have to deal with the bulk - I'm not stupid.

Both towels turned.

I press the edge and then stitch about a quarter inch from the edge - approximately.

Here they are - maybe they don't need wrapping!!!!!!!!!

A good friend gave me the lime green and the orange-red with green splotches - a fat quarter of each. I hand pieced this little wall hanging and am presently hand quilting.
