Blogger loaded these pics backwards. This is what I have this evening.........a new granite countertop and no cooktop!!!!!
The hole for the cooktop had to be cut out on site.
There is a downdraft fan that had to be dealt with.
The granite being placed on the cupboards. The fan from old and new cooktop needed to be lined up as best as possible.
When the formica top was removed - this is what you saw.
John was able to take the old cooktop out.
This was an all day affair...............first workman came about 8:30 and took away the old countertop and the old cooktop. That took about 10 minutes!!! He left the new cooktop - gas. John got that all assembled. The granite guys came about 10:30 and worked for about an hour - measuring carefully before cutting the opening. Little did we know that the dust was FINITE and EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!! Luckily we had time to vacuum, wipe and clean the whole first level of the house!!!!!!!!!!! The electrician came after lunch and ran a different line into the cupboard for the new cooktop. Lastly, the mechanical guy did not show - to put in gas line and connect the fan...............hopefully tomorrow and I will have another post!!!

Hope the mechanical guy shows up --- couldn't figure out the fan thing --- where is it?
