Today is Abe Lincolns' birthday. You don't hear it mentioned at all these days. When I grew up we had the day off school - and Georges' birthday too. We learned a lot about the presidents in school. Maybe that's because we lived outside Washington D.C. And it was before they got lumped into President's Day.
Valentines Day is this week.
Remember decorating a shoe box in school?
I made this hanging LONG ago, but pull it out every year.

This was my valentine to John a couple years ago. Recycle!!!!!

I have a couple little hangings, too. These "kids" are handmade and soooo neat. This little guy has a sister hanging in the kitchen window. The gal who made them is no longer doing that craft. I am privledged to have MANY of the "kids" and ducks and bears and other things she made for various holidays. I have the manger people too.........

I am machine quilting today. I really need to attack some unfinished projects............and this is one.

OK..........back to the sewing machine...............

When I was in kindergarten in Minneapolis, we learned this song for Feb 12:
Abraham Lincoln, kind and good
Was honored and loved by many.
To help us remember this president
We put his face on our penny.
Linda, I know it is Abe's birthday, but in our family, February 12 is Clark's birthday. He would have been 90 today and we celebrated his memory by having brunch at the University Club. He enjoyed it. too. Daisy
