I have outline quilted the blocks and borders and put the binding on. Next is quilting in the blocks.
I also have a smaller quilt for her - with the leftovers from the leftovers that are on the back of this one!!!!!!!!!! But I need to purchase backing for that one.
When Allison went to bed after seeing this she told me that when she closed her eyes she could see the blocks in her quilt.............goes right to my heart!!!!!!!!
I'm off to Grand Rapids tomorrow as my sewing machine needs attention at Smith Owen. I call ahead and bring peanut butter cookies and Brian will work on my machine while I am there.
I hope to find a large pink floral (?) for the backing of the smaller quilt for Allison.
I'll also meet Pat and have some time together. Looking forward to that........
Update - my sewing machine is really sick. There are 2 little motors and one is shot and needs to be replaced, which will take awhile. I'm not happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have my Featherweight to sew on, but the machine quilting is not going to get done. Oh well.......I'm sure I can find something to do!!!!!!!!!!

Allison looks so happy resting on her quilt. She will drag it with her until the binding ravels and the blocks fade, then put it lovingly away. Then bring it out sometimes to remember the love it was made with.
Also, absolutely love your quilt!!!
Allison even had coordinating clothing on, for the picture on the quilt. Are the leftovers multiplying like rabbits? Both quilts are lovely --- and so different in color approach. Hope you have a great visit with Pat.
Sweet to see Allison loving her quilt. :)
Did you buy backing and/or other fabric in Grand Rapids? Happy hunting! I needed a good blue fabric for the binding for my Beatles quilt last night, and I went to Country Stitches and found the perfect fabric to go with the quilt. It feels so good when you find just the right fabric, doesn't it?
As always, Linda, your quilts are works of art. It's wonderful, loving feeling to makequilts for your grandchildren. Emilie sleeps under her dog quilt in her dorm at Kalamazoo College, and Rose sleeps under her "Square in a Square" quilt that the B-E group made for me a couple years ago. Kari quilted both quilts so I could give them to the girls for Christmas 2008. They both mention them frequently. Color it all with LOVE. Daisy
