Quilt Rereat

That is NOT a typ-o......just the way my quilt friends and I refer to a nice weekend in Grand Rapids at Debs' home. She misspelled the word a few years ago and the name stuck.
Deb used to live in Lansing and invites "the group" to her home for a long weekend of sitting around, talking, sewing, eating, fabric shopping, sewing, talking and sitting around!!!!!!!!!!

Deb has lots of little birds out the back window. Deb, Ruth and Lori look at pictures.

Ruth was very proud that she finished this little bird applique. She will add a triangle border with a bright green leaf fabric.

We all bring food - sing up for a meal type of thing. We eat well.
This was Saturday evening - taco night. The guacamole was a BIG hit!!

Ruth reads quilt books while Terry cuts pieces for her blue and cream masterpiece.

Carol brings her Featherweight sewing machine and sets up on the table.....it just hums while she gets lots of piecing done.
Lori also had her machine to do some piecing.

Deb works on her design wall and Lori cuts fabric.

Carol and Daisy look at quilt block construction on the computer.

Carol was looking over things in Debs' sewing room.

Terry stayed Saturday night and bedded down on the sofa in the living room with the loon.

Deb had some yarn that got tangled and she and Carol worked on it for awhile. Don't know if they ever got it untangled or moved on to another project.

Sunday we watched the MSU Basketball team on TV - the last thing before we packed up to come home. You can see the worried looks - MSU did not win.

I got a lot done - hand pieced 6 blocks for block exchange. I'm happy.
Time to go home and face reality. It is such a nice weekend. Very relaxing for all. Great company.
Thank you, Deb.

Looks like everyone had lots of fun. I'm guest blogger on quilting gallery, can I link to your blog?

Thanks for the great photos and wonderful memories! I'll have to remember to get dressed next time before the camera comes out. ;-) Yes, the yarn did get untangled with a little help from my friends -- Carol and Carol. Thanks too Carol and Ruth for showing me the cast on methods. I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to next year's rereat already! Debra
