What Have I Been Up To???

This piece was started in a class at World Quilt in 2001. The Japanese teacher spoke no english, and her interpreter spoke enough to get by. The directions on paper were english, so no problems there.
Just problems finishing!!!
I had finished the sashiko last fall and on New Years' Day finished the wall hanging. It's on the wall going downstairs now as I have many oriental quilts on the walls.

What song to you see????????????????????????
That's right.....Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head.

****************************************************************************

While at the Michigan Quilt Network conference in Muskegon in September, I took an applique class from Karen Kay Buckley. I learned her applique technique - she prepares all the pieces by ironing around mylar. I can needle turn just as well.......
The piece is ready for more quilting. The pattern had 2 more panels, but the pattern is being donated for a door prize at LAP.

Where is this going??????????
I don't know yet.........valentine wall hanging? baby quilt?
I just know I wanted to applique somthing simple and these hearts spoke to me.

I started piecing a new quilt using some fabrics that I purchased last June while at NQA with Cindy. No pictures yet.......
I want to use some of the fabrics that I have......only buy if I have to for something specific.
Like a baby girl quilt for a niece - I have until April!!!!
OK....back to my sewing room............and not to do laundry!!!

I really like your appliqued hearts quilt. I recognize the fabric!!!
I finally did some quilting and it felt so comforting. I machine pieced the curved pastel blocks into a top. I still need to add a border and then maybe ask John to quilt it. Seally kept me company while I sewed last evening. I think I want to keep quilting. Cindy
