Sewing Time

It is a dismal day - cloudy, rain, temps dropping, sleet and snow coming.

What better thing to do.............start a quilt!!! Not that I have a couple in the works already!!

I want to make an MSU quilt for a May graduate. I started with Sparty on scarf that I got at a MSU Basketball game last year and added the new MSU fabric around it. The MSU fabric look black...........so I had to use white with it.

I will alternate the white and the MSU fabric..........and then.........don't know what is next. It will talk to me!!!

p.s. - The quilt top got done just as the MSU-UM game started - I added some of the "solid" green with helmets and sparty and some piano keys top and bottom........my finishing did not help the outcome of the game!!!! I even had time to gather backing fabrics.

I have not given up on this piece.............it needs more applique!!!! and then who knows????

I'm also busy appliquing borders for the hole in the barn door variation - it's a blue, green and a little red piece that I pictured earlier. I'm really liking the applique...........there, I said it again!!!!

Love your Sparty quilt, Linda! But then I love all your creative quilting. Glad you love to applique -- I just avoid that A word when I can! Keep on keepin' on! Daisy
