Folk Festival 2010

Saturday we spent all day at the Great Lakes Folk Festival in East Lansing. Music, food, etc........and seeing many friends...........so many from my library that I can't count them all!!!

We also met up with family - my sister, dad, brother, were there, too.

One of the first things Allison did was decorate a crown - and wore it most of the day!!!! The fountain square in EL is a favorite spot.
We enjoyed the Flamenco dancers - they were very good. The man in the blue shirt danced too.

This statue has been a favorite for years.

We saw Mary Ellen and Maggie - and they danced with Allison and Barb. It was very hot and humid - sweat was spraying!!!!

Allison and I did some line dancing together..........FUN!!!!!!!!

The adults took a time out and Allison and Maggie danced. Allison first met Maggie 3-4 years ago at the Folk Festival - on the field at Valley Court. Maggie was in my first Baby Storytime. Her family are great Foster Library patrons. I've had her little sister, Grace, in storytime, too.

Maggie had seen the play, Sleeping Beauty, last night - so the girls had something else to talk about!!!!

Allison had a henna tatoo put on her arm later in the afternoon/evening. Time meant nothing as we listened to music and walked around. We took the elevator to the top of the parking ramp - level 5!!!!!!!! What a view!!!!!!

We left about 10 pm, after listening to a little Quebecois group with Cindy and Lisa.
Allison went right to sleep when she got home.

What fun, Linda,

to see you both at the festival.

...and what's a little sweat among dancers?!

I love the table runner that morphed into a full-size twin quilt! Great job, you two.

Those children are lucky to spend time with you, each one being an "Only" for a time - thanks for giving them that gift.
