Andrew is Four!!!

Ashley and family came on Friday night after work. Andrew was 4 this past week. As a matter of fact, he got a card in the mail the day before his birthday and threw it in the trash - it wasn't his birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a birthday lunch for him. My folks and Barb came for an Andrew meal - things he likes - meatballs, macc and cheese, watermelon, carrots, finger jello and birthday cake.
The birthday blowers came out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Grandpa got involved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After my folks left, the kids had some water play time. This pool is really too small - but it was $4 at Meijers a couple years ago!!!!!!!!!!!! Add water guns, a slip and slide and we had our own water park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These special water guns were purchased at the East Lansing Art Fair a couple years ago - they are unique and fun!!!!!! They shoot almost 20 feet!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrew had no trouble figuring out how to use them.

The slip and slide provided much fun - down the hill next to the house and into the muddy grass!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alexander would run 30 feet and slide!!!!!!!!!!!!

Allison got into the act, too.

As you can see.........the pool is really small...........but on a hot day..........it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday morning we ALL got up early - like 6:30!!! John to finish his golf tournament and the rest of us to walk in the Ele's Place Race.
Ruth came with us as I had tried to get a group of quilters for Ele's together - but it ended up just her and me. The girls had quilt squares pinned to their backs - should have gotten a pic of that!!!!!!!!!!
Alexander ran - a personal best for him. Ashley did some running and walking. The rest of us walked the 3.1 miles. Allison and I sprinted to the finish line - and she beat me!!!!!!!!!!!

The house is quiet - I spent the afternoon doing laundry, sweeping the kitchen floor, etc..........
In another week, Allison will come to spend some time with us...........we look forward to the special times with one child.

It was fun doing the walk with you and your family - maybe next year we can run it together!

Thanks too for making me a quilt block to wear in my colors! Perhaps it will make its way into my St. Francis quilt.
