Flowers and a Quilt

I came home this morning to find these beautiful flowers in a tote bag from Ashley. Thank you, my beautiful daughter.........OXOX to you.

This weekend I'm working on basting this king size quilt. I have decided that I will quilt this one to keep the soft feeling of the fabrics on both the front and back. Both machine and hand quilting are in my future.
It totally fills out the floor space in the eating area of the kitchen - I moved out the table and chairs - and bumped my head on the light fixture twice!!!!

I baste one direction with the quilt on the floor - not in my favorite positions!!! Then I take it up to the island area and baste the rest of it - more in the first direction and every 6 inches or so in the other.........this may take all weekend!!!!

I stood on the island to take this picture...........
Corner view

The top appliqiue - mostly original. The bee is from Mickey Depre Garden Whimsey book.

The lower applique area. You can see my basting materials - old thread (45 cents was the cost for this spool) and blunt scissors.

The border fabric is perfect for this --- and, I think, you've used almost every method known to man (woman). You can't look at this quilt and not feel happy --- good job!
