Spring is here!!!!!!!

The Spring 5K races have begun. Saturday was the Race for Reading at my local Delta Township library. I haven't been training well the last 2 weeks - kids here and bad weather.
I did manage to come in first in my age group. The prize was a really nice bookmark - how appropriate!!!!

I have a 5K next weekend - Race for the Place - the Safe House at MSU.
May 2 is the Heart of a Spartan - finish line is the 50 yard line at Spartan Stadium!!!!!!

These are all my Quilt-a-Long blocks to date. I have one more of April to finish. I have no idea what the final setting will be. The are all hand pieced and I'm ready for more.......that's a hint to Bonnie!!!

It MUST be Spring - I put the sheets on the line today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to go to bed with sweet smelling sheets!!!

Please note the daffodils on the hill.............and the sweet smell of hycinths was evident when I brought the sheets in this afternoon. My trillium are blooming!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a couple groups of these by the back patio.

I came home from work on Friday and found a box for me on the counter. This will be a pretty spring flower basket when they all bloom. It is from Kathy - daughter of Rosie. I helped Kathy take care of fabric and books and notions and frames and stuff that was left when Rosie died about a year ago. All will go to charity - and I got a few things that will make me think of Rose when I use them.

I took a nice walk this morning with John - felt good to walk but NOT fast!!!!!!!!! I will get out more this week and be prepared for future races.......

John is scheduled for eye surgery on Thursday, so who knows what I will get done after that. This may forever change our lives. He has been in very good control of his diabetes since he came down with it 25 years ago. He is experiencing some of the complications of this disease despite his good control and this is very frustrating to him - and me.

You and John will be in my thoughts on Thursday. Please let me know if there's any way I can help. Sending good healthy thoughts your way. Terry

Knew John was having some difficulties --- didn't realize it was going to require surgery. Hopefully, it will all go well. You've got some busy weeks of "running" ahead of you --- go Linda! May Jan's "tailwinds" help you along!
P.S. I hung bedding out last week --- oooh, it smelled soooooo good!

Hi! I'm Lisa said...

Sorry to hear about John's challenges. Best wishes for the surgery on Thursday.

Thank yo for the glimpse of spring in Michigan ... and the shot of all your beautiful QAL blocks. I love those fabrics and fussy cut bits. I'll be hoping for the best for your John on Thursday.
