April Quilt a Long

This is my April Quilt a Long block. It is NOT an easy piecer...........but it 's done.

I do know that the future blocks are not this difficult. Trust me.
Today was the Race for the Place - the safe place at MSU. There is a walk category and I placed first in my age group.........nice little medal for this one!!!!!!
I met up with a lady that I made friends with at the first race I ever did over a year ago. She walks every day at the mall. She wasn't sure about doing races this year........this is her first. I think she will do more - and I'm glad I was able to help her in that decision. She is a little older than I am, feeling her arthritis a little more and placed first in her age group, too and I'm sure that helped her to think about more races this spring and summer. Seeing someone you know is soooo helpful and encouraging. As we walked back to our cars, turned out she had parked right next to me!!!!!!!!!!! I do hope I see her again soon.

The stress of last week is over - My dad does NOT have alzheimers or dimentia - he has MCI - Mild Cognitive Impairment.........he did very well on their memory tests at MSU. So that was good news.
John had his eye surgery and is seeing quite well - able to read the paper and magazines again. He has another follow-up appointment with is doctor on Monday afternoon. The visual accuity will come back slowly as healing continues. He still is on restricted activity for a couple weeks.....so lawn mowing will be done by me.

I'm working a few days for High Scope Educational Foundation this spring - out of town - like Hillsdale, Battle Creek, Mt. Pleasant, etc. It was a treat to visit Delta Center - the local school where I taught Developmental Kindergaren.

Hey, Linda. That's what my dad has been diagnosed with too. Annoying but seems better than an Alzheimer's diagnosis.
