Block Exchange 2008 and other things

We had our first block exchange meeting and I missed it because of my photography class.
This is Ruth's block - oriental fabrics........easy to make and fun to find fabrics that went into this block. I have LOTS of oriental fabrics. Beth wants the 8 inch connector blocks on the left and Lisa wants raspberries and lime for Claire.
Cindy is going to make a wall hanging for the Habitat office - so we are making houses - and trees if you want..........
I will post more as I do more blocks - and see the samples at the next meeting.
I think making 4 in an evening is enuf!!!! I was listening to the MSU Basketball game on the radio - and they were not playing well in Happy Valley!!

I had a pile of squares of transportation fabrics - so whipped this up for Andrew........he can carry it around and take it to day care if he wants.....
I also made 2 quilts for charity from squares of "kid" fabrics that I found in my cleaning out binge. One will go to Ele's Place for their Grief Camp and one to the critically ill quilts donated to local hospitals. No pics of those!!

This is my latest - hand pieced. There will be 6 blocks like this - different colors in the flying geese - and a connector block that I just designed - no pics yet.
It all came from the center floral fabric.

I have not been bored - when I was cleaning I also found a pre-printed vest. (dated 1996) So I whipped this up for Allison - had to try to make it a little longer with the added eyelit. There were extra designs on the fabric, so I fused them on a t-shirt.

Back to my sewing room..............

You have been busy with quilting. I love my house block and the really cool looking tree. Your camera is taking very wonderful true color photos. I bet you are learning new tricks in your photography class. See you soon. I still have a surprise for you. Cindy
