A Blast from the Past

This quilt is called Your Own Private Nine. It was made to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary a few years ago. I did it without John knowing what was going on - would hide it and turn on the dryer so he thought I was doing laundry!!!

There are 9 fairways with greens (wild fabric) , other fairways going thru the course, well manicured sand traps and water on the course with waves!!

The backing of the fabric is a print (wild mens' shirts) that came from a college visit trip to Nashville, Tenn. John actually walked into the fabric store with me. I pulled out a few bolts, including the shirt fabric which he said was really ugly, so I put it back. He went outside to sit on a bench while I bought yardage of the "ugly shirts" for the backing of his golf course which was working on at the time.

We went to a civil war house in exchange for visiting the fabric store!!

This quilt has been on the wall at his office and now that the office is here at home, I get to see the quilt. I don't think many have seen it.......altho he said visitors to his office were impressed.
