I have spent part of the last two weeks at the High Scope Educational Foundation Headquarters in Ypsilanti. The State Department of Education wants to know what 4 year olds are doing. They commission High Scope to design an instrument to measure the environments and a child assesment tool. High Scope trains me (and others) to go out to schools, Head Starts, and family child care centers to obtain the data. The data is then compiled by the research assistants at High Scope--
---Ultimately I am your tax dollars at work, thank you!!
The High Scope headquarters is in the estate of Mr Hutchinson - of S & H green stamps - remember licking those little things and putting them in books??? The house has beautiful wood trim, stairways, mantels and leaded glass windows. I have been known to sit in a training in the "dining room" and stare at the wood trim for an hour. Most of the training takes place in another building - not so architecturally intriguing - or distracting. As soon as I get my assignments, I'll start travelling to schools - hopefully some in the mid-Michigan area, altho I have been known to go from Bay City to Holland!!

Way cool, the job I mean. You can save all your bucks to buy things in Columbus and maybe Chicago. When do you get your schedule? I get to work on my self portait this weekend, I am thinking I have a "checkered" past and might use black and white check in the background. We will see............Cyndee the Arteest
