All in a morning's time!!

We drove to Mt Morris (north of Flint) this morning to look at slabs of granite.
Very Exciting!!! Notice the mud......

We brought a kitchen cupboard door and some fabric the color of our kitchen countertops.

We are replacing 26 year old cooktop in the island of the kitchen. I have had only 2 burners and no grill/griddle for quite a few years. Time to remedy the situation. But not easy - the current cooktop is 36 inches and there is no cooktop that will fit and work in that space except one with 5 burners - OVERKILL!!!!!

A new cooktop that is 30 inches has been ordered.

That means new counter - and we are going with granite - and just doing the island.

This is the building where they cut the granite slabs.

Then there is the oven situation - it blew up over 2 weeks ago. Luckily the microwave still worked, the 2 burners, electric fry pan and crock pot..........we survived.

At lunch time the new oven came. Electrical connections were the hardest part of the instillation.

The opening had to be made 1/2 inch larger...........piece of cake!!!

And the new oven put in.........

I still had the "How to" book from the old oven - and now have a new one to learn from.

It looks beautiful!!!!!!!!

And the cookie jar on the counter will be full later this evening.

In a couple weeks, these same workmen will be back to put in the new island counter and cook top.

UPDATE - oven is at right on temp for baking.....old one had been cool for a couple years!!!

Microwave has way too many programs - the instruction book will be on the counter for awhile!!!

How exciting for you to get a 'new' kitchen, even though it's not all new.
