Early Halloween

We went to Ohio over the weekend to deliver Halloween costumes and spend a little time with Ashley and the children.

This little boy isn't named Andrew John Peter for a reason!!!!!! Those 2 enjoyed some good times.

And it was very special to have him crawl in bed with me in the morning. He is quite a lover. The group photo..............

A posed action shot.

The ninja!!!!!!!

Hermione

Not sure what!!!!!!!!! - or who???????

Allison will cast a spell on the boys.........

They will do a "Trunk or Treat" on Saturday and then go trick or treating with friends that evening. Their town has the candy celebration on Saturday evening. I'm sure all the teachers are thankful for that since Halloween is on Monday.

Andrew wanted to carve a pumpkin.

He's ready with the knife - but the skin and pulp were just too hard for him. He drew a picture for me to copy - triangle eyes, circle nose and smiley face. That came from Pumpkin Jack - a story he had read at school.

"Mr Happy Face" ended up with a hexagon nose...........it was hard to carve thru this thing!!!!
Andrew was happy with him and he now resides on their back porch.

Allison helped clean the seeds and then we salted them and roasted them........yummy snack!!!

This pumpkin had very little pulp and not many seeds.........but we all enjoyed them.

Tuesday, October 25 is our special day - the day we got Ashley. That is the other reason for the visit. We enjoyed a dinner out at a local Mexican restaurant - yummy food.

John and Ashley looked at a house for her to rent - in a much better neighborhood. She has put in her rental application..........time will tell.

The drive home was in good time............and Mango was soooo happy to see us. He is in Johns' lap now!!!!!!!!

Busy week ahead...............hope I can get it all done!!!!!!!!

Good job on the costumes, Grandma! I'm quite happy that I don't have to come up with them ---probably the reason I chose to teach high school! With all these artificial pumpkins on the market, kids don't all have the opportunity to dig into the oooey gooey---lots of fun.
