I was the mouse and boy oh boy, was the costume HOT!!!!!
First you put a tummy and back padding on.
Then the fake fur body.
Then the padded overalls..........after that come large feet, and the hands. The head is heavy and has a helmet inside - with a 5/8 inch bolt resting on top of my head!!!!!!!!!!! I found a crochet pot holder in the kitchen area and padded my head. I felt HUGE, top heavy and HOT.....but managed to wave, dance and shake hands. Vision is very limited....
There were cookies for the kids!!!!

When Debbie and I were in high school, we had to wear "big head" costumes for the Joy of Sharing Christmas program at our church (a multi-day event where busloads of kids came through to be entertained). Pretty horrible costumes - very hot, impaired field of vision, and kids kept knocking on our "heads." I feel your pain!
Wow, that certainly is above and beyond the call of duty. I never knew librarians had to perform such duties. You look cute. I am sure the kids appreciated the mouse. What a good sport you are!Cindy
