Michigan Quilt Network in Muskegon

This is the view from my window at the Holiday Inn in downtown Muskegon.
There is a lot of renovation going on there - someday it will be thriving.....as
many downtowns are working on similiar projects.

The Museum of Art was very interesting.....great marble entryway. I made a connection with the director - possibilities for me and for Michigan Quilt Artist Invitational exhibit.


I did a storytime for some ladies - they all enjoyed being entertained and I heard many positive comments druing my stay there. thank you

My friend, Pat, came on Saturday morning and we saw the show and vendors. There were less than 100 quilts in the show.

I took a dyeing fabric class on Saturday afternoon. GREAT FUN and I want to do more!!

Sunday afternoon after golf, I rinsed the fabrics on the driveway. John was concerned that we would have a "one of a kind" driveway - but I assured him it was ok - and it was.

I'm excited to do more dyeing..........stay tuned.

This was an exercise in red to yellow...........mostly red!!!

This was the blue gradation sample..........I like all the texture.

This was using all colors in flat containers. The yellow did not stay bright because it got jiggled in the car coming home late Saturday night. I will try again with this - you have to raise the yellow parts and keep them from the darker colors.

I had a wonderful time. The ladies from MQN were all very friendly.

Next September their conference will be at the Lansing Center......maybe I'll go again.
